Biography

As a senior (2012)
Keene saved her best for last, batting .280 with five doubles, eight home runs, 26 RBI and 24 runs scored as the team’s starting third baseman. Her home run total was good for fourth in the Ivy League. She ranked second on the team with her .497 slugging percentage while starting all 44 games in which she appeared. Keene had nine multi-hit games, including a 2-for-4 day with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a win over Ivy champion Harvard. She hit a pair of solo home runs against Albany and blasted a grand slam against Hartford.

As a junior (2011)
Keene moved from second base to shortstop and provided a steadying influence in the middle of the diamond. She batted .253 with seven doubles, two home runs and 20 RBI while scoring 23 times. Keene started in 48 of the 49 games that she played in and posted a solid .944 fielding percentage at short. Keene had seven multi-hit contests, including a 4-for-4 day with a double, a home run, an RBI and three runs scored at Liberty. She scored three times in a home win over Princeton and drove in three runs at Dartmouth.

As a sophomore (2010)
Keene had a breakthrough sophomore season, batting .296 with six doubles, four home runs and 17 RBI while starting 36 of the 42 games in which she played. She posted 10 multi-hit games, including in each of the final three games of the Penn series. She had a career-high three hits at Binghamton and slammed home runs against Dartmouth, Dartmouth and Brown, as well as bombs in consecutive games of a doubleheader against Penn. Keene also recorded a solid .953 fielding percentage at second base. She really came on late in the season, batting .400 with a .618 slugging percentage and a .411 on-base percentage over the team's final 20 contests.

As a freshman (2009)
Keene played in 21 contests as a freshman with eight starts in 2009, batting .059 with three walks and three total sacrifices. She earned her first career start in a loss to Central Connecticut State on March 6 and scored her first career run two days later vs. Niagara. Keene collected her first collegiate hit with a single against Hartford.

At Blue Ridge HS
Keene led her team to a 2006 Pennsylvania state championship and four district titles. She was a two-time first-team all-star and served as team captain as a junior and senior. Keene also won four letters in volleyball as a setter and outside hitter, and she was named a first-team all-star her senior season. At Blue Ridge, Keene also played guard for the basketball team, earning two letters. A member of the National Honor Society, she served as the president of both NHS and student council. Keene was also the yearbook and newspaper editor.

Personal
Erin Samantha Keene is the daughter of Gerry and Sue Keene, and has a younger sister. She is enrolled on the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
