Biography

As a senior (2021)

• Appeared in all 16 games and started 11 contests in her senior season with the Big Red.
• Attempted five shots and landed one on goal during the season.
 

As a junior (2020)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a sophomore (2019)

• Tied for the team lead with two goals, both of which were scored in the season's first three games.
• Scored team's first goal of the season in sixth minute of Aug. 30 victory over Iona.
• Struck in the 57th minute Sept. 6 at Bucknell to spur team's 1-0 victory.
• One of just three players (and lone sophomore) to start all 15 games.
• Ranked second on team with 995 minutes played.
• Settled into familiar defensive midfield role after starting season at forward.
 

As a freshman (2018)

• Started all nine games with team, primarily in holding midfield role.
• Led team's newcomers with 774 minutes, including two shots toward goal and one on target.
• Missed six games while competing with Jamaica Women's National Team during qualification run to 2019 World Cup.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Member of Jamaica Women's National Team that advanced out of its group at 2018 CONCACAF Women's Championship qualifier for 2019 World Cup.
• Competed with Jamaica at the 2018 CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship, scoring a goal against the United States on Jan. 21.
• Named to Olympic Development Program All-Star Team for Region III.
• One of just three players in Region III to earn ODP Thanksgiving Day All-Star honors.
• NJ ECNL Showcase Top Performer.
• Competed at William T. Dwyer HS for freshman season before concentrating on club level.
 

Personal

• Jadyn Aliana Matthews is the daughter of David Matthews and Lisa Quarrie, and she has a brother and two sisters.
• Related to Jamaican sprinter Donald Quarrie, who won the gold medal in the 200-meter dash and the silver medal in the 100 at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
