Cornell University Athletics

As a senior (2020)

• Made three appearances and two starts for the Big Red during a shortened senior season.
• Finished the season with a 5.73 ERA over 11 innings pitched, allowing 17 hits and striking out eight batters.
• One of two pitchers to throw a complete game.
 

As a junior (2019)

• Went 6-18 with an 8.67 ERA in 34 appearances, including 22 starts.
• Had nine complete games and a team-best 59 strikeouts in 113.0 innings.
• Struck out eight in a complete game win at Mount St. Mary's.
• Allowed two earned runs and scattered six hits in a complete game victory over Princeton.
• Won each of the final two games against the Tigers, pitching a scoreless final three innings out of the bullpen in the series finale.
• Also picked up victories over Brown, Morgan State and Dartmouth.
• Four of her five wins in the circle came in Ivy play.
 

As a sophomore (2018)

• Went 7-10 with a 4.62 ERA in a team-best 109.0 innings of work over 23 appearances (16 starts).
• Was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week twice during the season.
• Hurled 11 complete games, including scattering six hits in a season-ending shutout of Princeton.
• Did not allow an earned run over the final 11 innings of the year.
• Allowed five hits and three runs while striking out five in a win at Brown.
• Went 8.0 innings against Binghamton, allowing two earned runs and striking out five in taking the hard-luck loss.
• Also went all eight innings in a win at George Mason, scattering nine hits and giving up just two earned runs.
• Took a hard-luck 1-0 loss against Siena, giving up only four hits and the lone run in a complete game.
 

As a freshman (2017)

• Was 2-8 with a save and a 6.19 ERA in 74.2 innings of work.
• Struck out 32 batters in 20 appearances, including 12 starts.
• Hurled two complete games and a shutout.
• Lowered her ERA to 4.37 in her final 17 appearances of the season and to 4.02 in Ivy League competition.
• Went the distance in a four-hit shutout at Division III power Ithaca College, striking out four.
• Earned the win with 2.2 innings of one-hit relief against Akron.
• Picked up a save with a perfect 1.1 innings of work in a 5-3 victory at Columbia.
• Allowed one earned run in 5.1 innings of work, scattering five hits in a Big Red victory over Brown.
• Surrendered one hit in three innings of work at Marist.
• Went four scoreless innings of two-hit ball in a 3-1 loss at Dartmouth.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Lew was a three-time all-state pick, including a two-time first-team pitcher, at Westlake HS.
• She was a three-time all-league and all-region pick.
• Set a school record for strikeouts in a season.
• Helped lead the squad to the regional finals as a junior.
• She also played two years of volleyball.
 

Personal

• Catherine Nicole Lew is the daughter of Dr. Michael and Ann Lew and has an older and younger brother.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
