Biography

As a senior (2012)
Watts hit .261 with four doubles, a home run, nine RBI and 10 runs scored in 29 games, including 18 starts. Watts was 3-for-3 with a walk at Binghamton and had a pair of hits against both Albany and Columbia. She hit a two-run homer at Yale at help the Big Red rally from a 5-0 deficit for an 8-6 victory.

As a junior (2011)
Watts batted .204 with a double, triple and seven RBI while playing in 28 contests with 15 starts. She also scored five runs and stole a pair of bases. Watts was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI against Rider and had a three-run triple at George Washington.

As a sophomore (2010)
Watts played in 30 contests, starting five, seeing a majority of her time as a pinch-runner. Watts scored 11 times during the season and drove in a pair of runs herself. She went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored at Binghamton and also slammed a double against Ithaca College. Watts made 11 plays in the field without committing an error.

As a freshman (2009)
Watts saw action in 31 contests with two starts as a freshman, ending the season hitting .067 while being used primarily off the bench as a pinch-hitter and pinch-runner. She collected her first collegiate hit against Siena, scoring and driving in a run and fielding three plays flawlessly at third base in the win. Watts scored nine runs on the season. She earned her first career start at third base against Iona.

At Ridge HS
Watts was a two-time all-area and county honoree, and was named all-conference three times. Her senior season, she served as team captain and was named Ridge HS female scholar athlete of the year. In 2008, she helped the NJ Elite U23 team to take third place at nationals. Earning four letters playing tennis, Watts played No. 1 doubles and was her team’s captain her junior and senior seasons. A member of the National Honor Society, she was also her student body treasurer and an Edward J. Bloustein Scholar.

Personal
Katherine Elizabeth Watts is the daughter of Peter ‘85 and Cheryl Watts, and has a younger brother and sister. She is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
