At Tamalpais HS
Scarsella was a two-time all-state selection and league Pitcher of the Year at Tamalpais HS. A two-year team captain, she was named team MVP three times, earning all-league honors each season. As a senior, Scarsella posted a 1.21 ERA and 253 strikeouts in the circle while hitting .520. She posted a 0.49 ERA with 137 strikeouts as a junior and a 0.52 ERA with 234 strikeouts during her sophomore year. All told, Scarsella posted 688 strikeouts and an ERA of just over 1.00 for her career. Scarsella also played two years of basketball in high school.

Kimberly Luisa Scarsella is the daughter of John and Lisa Scarsella and has an older brother and younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
