Biography

As a junior (2014)
Laeufer batted .195 with a double, six runs scored and two RBI while starting 11 of the 18 games in which she played. She had a pair of hits against Princeton and drove in runs in wins over both George Mason and Robert Morris. She ripped a double and scored once in a loss to the Patriots.

As a sophomore (2013)
Laeufer platooned in the outfield and also saw time at third base and hit .262 with a pair of doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI. She scored seven runs and didn't commit an error in 29 total chances. She saw action in 38 games with 26 starts and also stole two bases. She had four multi-hit games, including a 2-for-4 day with a home run against Albany and a 2-for-2 afternoon with a homer vs. Rutgers. She opened the year with six hits in her first 11 at bats. Laeufer had two hits, including a double, and two stolen bases against Rider.

As a freshman (2012)
Laeufer had an outstanding freshman season, batting .286 with 11 doubles and five home runs. She drove in 19 with a team-best 26 runs scored in 43 total games, including 40 starts. She posted a solid .471 slugging percentage and drew 11 walks, second-best on the team. Laeufer also committed just one error on the season in the outfield. In Ivy League action, Laeufer’s average soared to .325 with seven doubles and three homers to go along with 18 runs scored in 20 games. She posted 10 multi-hit games, including four-hit days against Liberty and Yale. Laeufer was 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI against Liberty and also had two doubles as part of a 2-for-5 day at Brown.

Prior to Cornell
A three-time all-conference and two-year all-district selection, Lauefer played first base, second base and short stop in her four-year varsity career at Pickerington HS North. The two-year team captain was given the Ohio Capital Conference Scholar-Athlete Award as a senior. Lauefer also competed for the Lady Lasers White club team where she was a two-time game MVP at the Queen of Diamonds Showcase tournament, earning first-team all-tournament honors. Her squad finished seventh as ASA A Nationals.

Personal
Linda Louisa Laeufer is the daughter of Eric and Sarah Laeufer and has a younger sister. She is enrolled in the School of Industrian and Labor Relations.
