Biography

As a senior (2018)
• Hit .192 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored in 12 total contests, including five starts.
• Went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in game two of the series against Columbia.
• Was 1-for-1 with a double, a walk and a run scored at Princeton.
• Drove in runs against Villanova and Binghamton.

As a junior (2017)
• Batted .217 in 25 contests, including 17 starts.
• Had a double, a home run and four RBI while scoring seven times.
• Belted a walk-off three-run home run to help Cornell top Akron.
• Was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI at George Mason.
• Posted a hit and a walk in a win at Mount St. Mary's.

As a sophomore (2016)
• Hit .150 in 23 contests, including 20 starts, with a double, an RBI and three runs scored.
• Saw significant time in the flex position while playing centerfield when Meg Parker earned the start in the circle.
• Had an RBI double against Providence and also had hits against IPFW and Albany.
• Made just one error in 23 games, posting a .974 fielding percentage with a pair of outfield assists.

As a freshman (2015)
• Hernandez was a key reserve for the Big Red as a freshman, seeing action in 15 contests with one start.
• Primarily used as a defensive substitution in the outfield.
• Hit .333 (2-for-6) with four runs scored and two RBI in limited plate appearances.
• Collected her first career hit with an RBI single in a victory over Morgan State.
• Scored runs in back-to-back wins over Columbia.

At Punahou School
• A four-year letter winner in softball at Punahou School, Hernandez was part of the school's first-ever state championship team as a junior.
• She led her team in home runs, slugging percentage and on-base percentage in her final season and was chosen to compete in the Hawaii All-State Softball Classic, where she went 5-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI.
• She earned the school's scholar-athlete award and was a league honorable mention pick as a senior.
• Hernandez also competed in wrestling and judo, winning four league titles and a state championship in wrestling in 2013 and a junior national title in judo.

Personal
• Zoe Mari Hernandez is the daughter of Darren and Brenda Hernandez and has an older brother, Zack, who wrestles at Columbia.
• Her father played football at Hawaii and her mother was a cross country athlete at Harvard.
• Her great grandfather, Yukio Nishimura, was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977 after playing professionally for the Osaka Tigers.
• She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
