One of the most productive offensive players in Ivy League history, Walters has the speed, hands and body control to continue as one of the nation’s top receivers and special teams players.He is fearless as a punt returner and is electric in the open field with the ball. Walters enters his senior season with 4,079 all-purpose yards in his career, a mark that ranks second on the school’s all-time list behind only Cornell Hall of Famers Chad Levitt (5,117 yards) and Ed Marinaro (4,947 yards). An honorable mention All-Ivy selection in 2008, Walters broke the conference record for kickoff return yardage and became the first player in Ivy history to surpass 2,000 yards. Walters enters his senior season ranked ninth in Ivy League history in all-purpose yardage. He ended his junior season with 43 catches for 643 yards and two touchdowns with a team-best 15.0 yards per catch average. He led the Ivy League and ranked 17th in the country in all-purpose yardage with 153.0 yards per game. Walters had three 100-yard receiving games, including four-catch, 116-yard effort vs. Dartmouth that included a 96-yard touchdown reception, the second-longest in Cornell history. He also had eight catches for 138 yards and a touchdown vs. Princeton and six receptions for 127 yards vs. Columbia. Walters established a new school record for punt return yardage in a season (345) as a sophomore in 2007 and established the career record as well by the end of the season. He led the Ivy League and ranked 15th nationally in all-purpose yardage (170.2 ypg.), while pacing the conference and standing 22nd nationally in punt returns (11.1 yards per return). The 6-1 pass-catcher had 48 catches for 592 yards and four scores. Both his receiving yards per game and catches per game marks ranked among the top 60 nationally. He had consecutive 100-yard games, catching 10 passes for 115 yards against Princeton, then posting 103 yards on eight catches the following week at Dartmouth. Walters tallied 276 all-purpose yards against Yale and 272 vs. Princeton, two of four games with at least 200 yards. He earned Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week after the Princeton game. A two-time Ivy League weekly honoree in 2006, Walters earned the team’s Jeff Stenstrom Award as the player who contributes the most to the performance of the special teams. Walters ranked among the top returners in the country. He was 14th nationally in kickoff returns (24.5 yards per return) and 27th in punt returns (10.1 yards per return). Walters’ 105.9 all-purpose yards per game was good for 58th nationally and fourth in the Ivy League. His 274 yards in punt returns broke a 58-year-old school season record, and his 88-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter against Penn proved to be the game-winner. Walters also caught three passes for 33 yards against nationally ranked Harvard. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.

At Juanita
A three-year all-league pick, Walters excelled at receiver, safety and defensive back at Juanita HS. A team captain as a senior, he set school records for all-purpose yards, total offense in a season and completions and interceptions in a game. Walters was the team’s most valuable player on offense as a junior and was the school’s player of the year as a senior. A National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete, he was nominated to play in the all-state football game. Walters was named most valuable receiver at the Washington State football camp in the summer of 2005 and later earned first-team all-area honors at safety by the Eastside Journal. As a senior, Walters was 74-for-153 passing for 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns, and rushed for 596 yards and eight touchdowns. He was also a three-time all-league pick in baseball and a two-year captain and an all-league pick as a senior in basketball.
