At Cornell
Gneo has been part of the Big Red coaching staff since 2016 and was elevated to Associate Head Coach in 2017. He currently works with the team's defensive backs and leads up the special teams.
In his six seasons on the sidelines for the Big Red, Cornell has posted a pair of four-win seasons and had 55 players honored on the all-league teams.
In his inaugural season as associate head coach in 2017, Gneo saw his team notch a 4-3 record – a significant improvement from the previous year – including a thrilling 19-14 comeback win at Franklin Pierce. Eleven different players earned All-CSFL honors under his guidance.
Gneo saw continued success in his second season, in which the team saw a 4-2 record. Improving from his first season, 12 players from the 2018 squad were named All-CSFL with five honored with a first-team nod.
Personal
Gneo graduated from Ithaca College in 1985 and was a member of the football team. He was a three-sport athlete at Ithaca High School. He has been a physical education teacher and coach for the Ithaca City School District since 1992.
He resides in Ithaca with his wife Lorenda. They have two children.
