PRIOR TO CORNELL
Kowalczyk spent three-years as an offensive assistant coach at Ithaca College where he was the head signaler for the team's play-calling and administered a variety of different drills with the offense to develop football fundamentals. He then became the wide receivers coach for Ithaca College from the winter of 2021 leading up to his hire at Cornell. Aas the wide receivers coach, Kowalczyk continued his previous duties while also creating weekly scouting reports and game-by-game self-scouts, doing video breakdown and being the play-caller for the Junior Varsity program's offense in developmental games and throughout practices. Kowalczyk coached three first team All-Liberty league wide receivers and one second team All-Liberty League wide receiver over his time as the wide receivers coach. He also was a part of the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
