Tom Moffitt, a native of Binghamton, N.Y., is back with the sprint football staff for his 13th season in 2014. He has been an assistant for the 1997-99, 2003 and 2006-13 teams.
Moffitt attended Hobart College and earned a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics in 1974, and a master of science degree in mathematics and education from Elmira College in 1978.
While at Hobart, Moffitt captained both the football and lacrosse teams and was named athlete of the year in 1974.
After leaving Hobart, Moffitt was an instructor and coach at Oxford Academy and Central School, Horseheads and Corning East. He has coached football, basketball and lacrosse and started a lacrosse program at Corning Community College in 1986.
Moffitt presently works at Corning East HS, where he has taught for the past 22 years and has coached both football and basketball.
Moffitt resides in Elmira, N.Y., with his wife, Jean. They have two children, a son and a daughter.Â
