Biography
As a Junior (2013)
Michaels played both sides of the ball for Cornell in his second season, making one catch for seven yards as well as recording a solo tackle.
As a Sophomore (2012)
Michaels did a bit of everything for the Big Red during his first year with the sprint football team, playing in all seven games as a running back, receiver, punt returner and defensive player. He rushed 27 times for 105 yards and a touchdown, also catching five balls for 33 yards. He returned one kick for two yards, had 12 tackles, a tackle for a loss and recovered one fumble.
Prior to Cornell
Michaels lettered three times at Laguna Beach HS, winning the Orange Coast League individual championship and being named league MVP in both 2010 and 2011. In each year from 2007-2011, he led his team as captain to undefeated Orange Coast league championships, and was named as the team’s MVP each season.
Personal
Jake Alexander Michaels is the son of Greg and Kristine Michaels. Several members of his family have played collegiate and professional sports, including his father who played tennis at USC from 1986-90 and then played professionally. His uncle Peter Michaels was a shot putter for USC from 1985-1988, his uncle Nick Michaels was a baseball player at Westmont College from 1979-81, and his aunt Sydnee Michaels played golf at UCLA from 2006-10 and is currently on the LPGA tour. Michaels is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
