At Cornell
Junior (2009)
Ferrari became a starter during his junior season and earned a first-team All-CSFL selection. He proved to have some of the best instincts on the field and finished the season ranked second on the team with 36 tackles, including five tackles for a loss of 23 yards. He also posted 1.5 sacks and blocked one kick.

Sophomore (2008)
Ferrari played in all seven games of his sophomore campaign and finished the year with 20 tackles. He also tallied 2.5 sacks, broke-up two passes, forced one fumble and blocked one kick. Ferrari also returned one punt on the season for a total of six yards.

At Dobbs Ferry
An all-league pick in both football and wrestling at Dobbs Ferry HS, Ferrari played both sports for four years.  He was part of the 2004 and 2006 school's state championship team, was an All-State scholar, a Golden Dozen honorable mention and an Army Reserve national scholar athlete.  Ferrari was a four-year letter winner in wrestling and served as his team's captain.

Matthew J. Ferrari is the son of Gary and Anne Ferrari, and he has one older sister.
