At Cornell:
After being a soccer standout in high school, Ottinger has worked hard the last two years to gain the football knowledge he needed to be successful. As a result, he was third on the team in scoring in 2007 with 20 points on 1x4 field goals (32 long) and was successful in 17x19 PAT kicks. Ottinger received second-team All-CSFL honors, and he is a preseason starter at the offensive center position. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering. 

At Fleetwood Area: 
A two-star athlete at Fleetwood Area HS, Ottinger qualified for the district championships in pole vaulting. He was a two-time captain in soccer where he led the team to the state semifinals in his senior year. Ottinger was also the Jeff Remley Memorial Scholarship Award winner. 

Personal: 
Mitchel J. Ottinger is the son of Alan and Loretta Ottinger, and he has one older brother.
