As a Senior (2019)

• Saw action in three games, missed three due to an injury.
• Led the team with four touchdowns and 144 rushing yards, despite being out for half the season.
• Awarded the Al Baldini Outstanding Senior Award, which is presented to outstanding senior players who have contributed the most to the team over their Cornell sprint football career.
• Presented with the game ball of the team's single win on the season.
 

As a Junior (2018)

• Scored a team-high 32 points with five touchdowns, two receiving and three rushing.
• Second-highest rushing yards with 213 on the season, including one 25-yard rush at Penn (9/21).
• Top five leader in tackles with 25, including 23 solo tackles.
• Averaged a team-high 10.67 yards returned on with 3 punts.
 

As a Sophomore (2017)

• Leading rusher for Cornell in 2017, netting 378 yards on the ground en route to four touchdowns to rank third on the team in scoring (24).
• Notched season-long rush of 46 yards against Post (11/3).
• Also had 17 catches while additionally serving as a punt and kick returner.
• Was CSFL Offensive Player of the Week for week two following a dominant three-touchdown performance in a 48-20 win over Caldwell (9/22).
• Ran in two touchdowns in just the first quarter before adding in another in the second period.
 

As a Freshman (2016)

• Had a stellar first year for the Big Red sprint football team, leading the team in all-purpose yards (717), receiving yards (299) and catches (27).
• Kick return yards (217) was second best on the team while his 137 rushing yards was fourth best. 
• Also returned four punts for 64 yards and registered four tackles. 
 

Before Cornell

• A two-year captain, helped lead the football team to the Section 2 Championship, North NY Regional Championship and East NY Championship in 2015 and was named the league’s most valuable player.
• Was also a member of the basketball team, captaining the squad in his senior year, and ran track.
• Was a member of the National Honor Society while in high school.
 

Personal

• William Isaac Griffen is the son of Steven and Laurie Griffen.
• He has an older brother, Alex, who graduated from Cornell in 2014, and a younger brother, Lucius.
