Caroline Kellner's up-to-date results
As a Senior (2015-16)
Kellner had a career year as a senior, earning Second-Team All-Ivy honors with an 11th-place finish at Ivy League Cross Country Championships. She also qualified for NCAA Division I Northeast Region Championships, where she finished 25th. She also placed second at the Brother Jaspeer Invitational and at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational.
She continued her success on the track, earning a Second-Team All-Ivy nod with her runner-up finish in the 5K at Ivy League Indoor Heptagonals. She won the mile at the Cornell Upstate Challenge and placed second in the 5K at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational. Outdoors, she won the 10K at the UCLA Distance Carnival and became the Ivy League champion in the 10K, garnering a spot on the All-Ivy First Team. She qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in the 10K, placing ninth to advance to the NCAA national finals.
As a Junior (2014-15)
As a tri-captain, Kellner continued to be a top performer for the Big Red her junior season. She was named Second Team All-Ivy after placing 10th at Ivy League Heptagonals with a 6K time of 21:09.6. She was also named to the All-Northeast Region team, leading Cornell at NCAA Regionals with a 16th place finish. In the season-opening meet at Army, she finished second with a 5K time of 17:32.59. Her 17:39 time at Franklin Park in Boston was good for no. 7 all-time in program history on that course and a top-25 finish in the national caliber field. She also grabbed the no. 4 spot on the program charts for the 6K Lehigh course, crossing the line in 20:27. Kellner was also given Academic All-Ivy and USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

On the track, Kellner took over the no. 2 spot all-time at Cornell in the 10K, crossing the line in 33:332.02 at the Stanford Invitational. She also became no. 5 all-time in program history in the 3000, finishing in 9:28.03 at the SPIRE Invitational. She placed second (9:35.61) in the same event at the Beantown Challenge. Her second-place 10K finish at Outdoor Heps was a career best and helped her earn All-Ivy honors. At outdoor ECACs, her 15th place finish in the same event was also a career best.
As a Sophomore (2013-14)
Kellner ran just three races this cross country season, but made each one count. She ran to a 13th place finish at the Reif Memorial Run with a 5K time of 18:30.2. Her next finish came at the Ivy League/Heptagonal Championships, where she placed 32nd with a 6K time of 21:45.3. Kellner rounded out the season with a trip to the NCAA Championships, where she finished 206th with a time of 22:08.1.Â
Kellner completed another stellar track season for the Big Red as a sophomore, cementing her foothold as one of the team’s key distance runners. She had an impressive showing at the Indoor Heps in both the 3K and the 5K, taking 12th and 13th place in the events. Her success in the 5K continued at the Indoor ECAC Championships, where she took third place at an improved time of 16:40.46, amassing 6 points for the Big Red. Transitioning into the outdoor season, Kellner competed at the Outdoor Heps in the 3K, finishing eighth at 9:41.55, as well as the 10K, where she finished fourth to a time of 34.27.27.
As a Freshman (2012-13)
Kellner was the team's top freshman in 2012, finishing in the scoring in almost every race. Kellner began her year with a fifth overall showing at the Army-Binghamton tri-meet, and her performance stayed consistent after that. She was fifth overall at the Yellowjacket Invitational, 28th at the competitive Paul Short Run and 172nd at the challenging Wisconsin Invitational. At her first Heps, Kellner took 15th overall and just missed a spot on the All-Ivy Second Team. She was the team's fifth scorer at the NCAA Northeast Regional (45th overall) and ran 171st at the NCAA Championships, scoring more points for the Big Red in its 12th-place finish. At the conclusion of the season, Kellner was awarded the team's 5th Runner Award and its Most Valuable Freshman Award. She was selected by USA Track and Field to represent Team USA at the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she placed 16th.
On the track, Kellner was terrific as well. She made a name for herself by placing ninth at the Indoor Heps in the 5K, and she followed that by running in the 3K Championship at Penn Relays and taking eighth. Outdoors, Kellner got even better when she placed fourth in the 5K at Outdoor Heps in a seasonal-best 16:23.62 and also took seventh in the 3K. Kellner was stellar at the Outdoor ECACs, taking second place in the 3K. She finished her first year with Cornell by advancing to the NCAA East Regional in Greensboro, N.C., and finishing 27th in the 5K in 16:40.88. Her personal best indoors in the 5K of 16:49.38 is also the Cornell freshman record in the event. Her outdoors best in the 3K of 9:37.69 is also the Cornell outdoor freshman record in that event.
Before Cornell
Kellner is a two-time qualifier for the prestigious Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships and has been among the best in New Jersey in both cross country and track throughout her high school career. The 2011 New Jersey Meet of Champions runner-up in cross country, Kellner has personal bests of 4:59 for 1600, 9:57 for 3K, 10:29.80 for 3200 and 17:13 for 5000 meters on the track.

Caroline Rose Kellner is the daughter of Steven and Anne Kellner. Her older sister, Katie, is an accomplished cross country and track runner at Cornell.
