As a Senior (2017-18)
• NCAA East Preliminary Qualifier in the 10,000 meters.
• Competed at both Indoor and Outdoor Heps.
• Finished 15th in the 5000 during indoors (17:04.26).
• Took 11th in the 10,000 (36:56.18) and 19th in the 5000 (17:30.59) at outdoors.
• Finished 13th in the 5000 at the ECAC Outdoor Championships (17:35.62).
• Won the 5000 at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup (17:08.78).
• Also won the 10,000 at the Bison Outdoor Classic in a personal-best time (34:42.83).
• Recorded personal best in the 1500 (4:39.42) at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite.
• Once again had a standout cross country season, competing in six meets while being a top five Big Red scorer in all of them.
• Opened up final cross country season by taking seventh overall and second for Cornell at the quad meet with Columbia, Brown and NYU before placing 28th and crossing the line fourth for the team at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown.
• Flourished as the number one finisher for the squad at the Paul Short Run as she finished 27th overall and at the Penn State National Open, was second for Cornell as she took 22nd.
• Earned Second Team All-Ivy honors at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships after completing the course ninth and second for the Big Red.
• Closed out season at the NCAA Northeast Regional, placing 44th overall and third for the team.
As a Junior (2016-17)
• Had a stellar junior cross country season, finishing 19th in the season-opening Spiked Shoe Invitational and ninth in the Yellowjacket Invitational.
• After finishing 44th at the Paul Short 6K Gold Race and 34th at the Penn State National, earned All-Ivy honors with an 11th place finish at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships.
• Accrued All-Region honors with a 23rd place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
• On the track, had a stellar nine top 10 finishes.
• Matched a personal record of 9:49.19 in the 3000 that she had set during the indoor season for a win at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational and was second in the 10,000 at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival with another personal best, 35:12.68.
• Had a personal record in the 5000 (16:50.45) to finish 10th at the ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
• Also finished second in the 3000 at ECACs and was 12th in the 5000 and 16th in the 10,000 at outdoor Heps.
As a Sophomore (2015-16)
• Had a strong cross country season, placing third in the season-opening Brother Jasper Invitational and fourth in the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational.
• Competed in Division I Pre-Nationals and finished 40th at both Ivy League Cross Country Championships and Division I Northeast Region Championships.
• Opened the indoor track season on a high note, winning the 3K at the Robert J. Kane Invitational.
• Picked up a pair of third-place finishes, one in the mile at the Cornell Sunday Invitational and one in the 3K at the Marc Deneault Invitational, and qualified for Indoor ECAC Championships in the 3K.
• Outdoors, placed ninth in the 10K at Ivy League Heptagonals and finished ninth in the 5K at ECAC Championships.
As a Freshman (2014-15)
• In first collegiate cross country season, was the top collegiate finisher (10
th overall) in the Open Race at the Paul Short Run with a 6K time of 21:49.
• Also placed 12
th in the Army dual meet with a 5K time of 18:16.89.
• On the track, seasonal best in the 1500 of 4:47.36 came when she won her heat and finished ninth overall at the Big Red Invitational.
Before Cornell
• A Colorado state cross country and track qualifier every year during high school, McLaughlin was the state runner-up in cross country as a senior and emerged as one of the very best distance runners in the US as a senior, placing 13th at the USATF junior cross country championships.
• Has personal bests of 4:40 for 1500, 11:03 for 3200 and 18:03 for 5K cross country.
Personal
• Erin Maureen McLaughlin is the daughter of Mike and Judy McLaughlin.
• She has a twin sister, Jessie, who attends the University of Dayton '18.
