As a Senior (2016-17)
Spillane had a stellar final collegiate cross country season. She began the season with an eighth place finish at the Spiked Shoe Invitational, and her 21:21 over the 6K course was the fourth-best performance ever by a Big Red racer. Spillane went on to finish second at the Yellowjacket Invitational, 40th at the Paul Short 6K Gold Race and 20th at the Penn State National Open. In her final two races, Spillane finished 26th at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships and 55th at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
Spillane ran in three track meets her senior year, taking second in the 3000 at the Upstate Challenge and fourth in the 3000 at the Sykes and Sabock Challenge. In the outdoor season, she placed 16th in the 5000 at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
As a Junior (2015-16)
Spillane picked up right where she left off, winning each of her first two cross country races of the season, the Brother Jasper Invitational and the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational. She placed fourth at the competitive Lehigh Paul Short Run, and 40th at Division I Pre-Nationals, in a field of the best runners in the nation. She earned Second-Team All-Ivy honors, placing 10th at Ivy League Cross Country Championships. She also qualified for the NCAA Division I Northeast Region Championships, placing 36th.
On the track, she placed second in the 3K at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open and helped the distance medley relay to a runner-up finish at the Nittany Lion Challenge. Outdoors, she placed sixth in the 5K in a personal-best 16:48.11 at the Bison Outdoor Classic. She finished 18th in the same event at Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonals and qualified for ECAC Championships in the 5K.
As a Sophomore (2014-15)
Spillane’s sophomore campaign was an impressive one as she emerged as one of the Big Red’s top runners and ultimately earned First Team All-Ivy and NCAA All-Region honors.  She opened the season with a first place finish at the Army dual meet, posting a 5K time of 17:11.09. In the Boston College Invitational 5K, she broke the school record for the course by nearly 10 seconds, finishing in 17:09 to take fifth. The following week, she set another new program record, again by nearly 10 seconds, finishing the 6K course at Lehigh in 20:14, an 80-second improvement on her time from the previous year. She was also the top finisher for Cornell at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational.

On the track, she continued to etch her name into the record books, taking over the no. 6 spot on the program chart in the 3000 with her 9:29.86 finish, beating her previous personal best by a whopping 31 seconds. She also ran in her first 10,000, placing 12th with a time of 37:04.20.
As a Freshman (2013-14)
Spillane opened up her Big Red career with a 3rd place finish in the season-opening race against Army with a time of 18:02.1. She also ran in the Boston College Invitational, placing 26th with a time of 17:57.0. Her first collegiate 6K race was at the Paul Short Gold run, where she finished 70th with a time of 21:34.0.
Spillane’s opening track season for the Big Red was a strong one, bringing a competitive showing in meets throughout the season.  At the conclusion of the indoor season, she ran the 3K at the Indoor ECACs to finish in 36th place. Spillane ran the 3K again at the Outdoor Heps, where she improved to 15th place and a time of 10:04.63. Her season concluded at the Outdoor ECAC Championships, where she finished 19th in the 5K at 16:49.12.
Before Cornell
One of the most accomplished endurance athletes to come out of New England in recent years, Taylor won the 2012 Vermont state cross country title and was the New England and Nike Northeast cross country runner-up in 2012. She competed at the Nike cross country nationals in 2010, 2011 and 2012, is a part of a state record 4x800 team and holds the Champlain Valley HS record at 3000 meters, with a PR of 10:15.72. She is also one of the top young skiers in the United States, having won state and Eastern Championships in the winter of 2013.Â
Personal
Taylor Rime Spillane is the daughter of Kevin and Stacey Spillane. She has two younger brothers, Burke and Harken. Taylor is enrolled in the College Agriculture and Life Sciences.
