Biography
At Cornell
The 2012 team captain was a mainstay in the bars lineup in 2012 and was the recipient of the team's Jill Ryer Leadership Award. She had seven meets with a score of 9.5 or better on bars, including a career-high 9.725 against Penn and Brockport. She was in the lineup on bars in the 2011 season opener at George Washington. Maher earned a late-season lineup spot on uneven bars in 2010, posting a season-best 9.4.
Prior to Cornell
A graduate of Neuqua Valley HS, she was a region 5 level 10 gymnast. She was a seven-time regional qualifier and a two-time national competitor. Maher was the 2005 Illinois State beam champion and the 2006 Region 5 bar champion. In high school, she was honored as an Illnois State Scholar, Indian Prairie Scholar and has received numerous Academic Achievement Awards.
Personal
Ashley Michelle Maher is the daughter of Gary and Debra Maher and has an older brother. She is enrolled in Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
