Prior to Cornell
Melvin competed for nine years as a hunt seat rider, eight years as a fast pitch softball pitcher, and three years as an archer. In addition to being a National Merit Finalist and Honor Roll Student, she was a member of the National Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa while in high school.
 
Personal
Jaclyn Marie Melvin is the daughter of Jeff and Mary Melvin and sister of Jenna and Rachel.  In addition to Polo, Melvin is involved with the following activities at Cornell:  Recreational Fencing Club, Block & Bridle Club, Pre-Vet Club, and the Raptor Program.  Melvin chose Cornell because of the Animal Science program and rigorous academics; she felt Cornell was the college that would best prepare her for her future as a large animal veterinarian. This year she looks forward to improving her skills as an athlete and growing even closer to her teammates.  Jaclyn Marie Melvin is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Science.
