Biography
Why Bryson Chose Cornell: I attended the Cornell Rowing Camp the summer after my freshman year and came away in awe of both the university and the rowing program. From the academic opportunities to the welcoming atmosphere of the team, I knew that Cornell was where I wanted to be.
At Cornell
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Rowed in the championship four at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta, crossing the finish line in 18:33.611 and beating Harvard Radcliffe.
• Competed with the “A” boat during round one of the Princeton Chase, finishing in a team-best 15:44.198.
• Rowed with the “A” fours boat that took second place at the Cornell Autumn Classic, finishing with a time of 14:13.83.
• Took first place at the Cornell Autumn Classic, rowing in the “A” eights boat and finishing with a time of 12:57.75, five second ahead of a Syracuse.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Rowed in the second varsity eight during her freshman season.
• Helped the second varsity eight defeat Dartmouth at the Parents Cup.
• Took sixth at the Ivy League championships where the second varsity eight competed in the Grand Finals.
Prior to Cornell
• Rowed with Pittsford Crew.
• Served as team captain for the 2017-18 season.
• Bronze medal place in the women’s varsity eight at the 2017 New York State Scholastic Rowing Championships.
• Fourth place in the women’s under-23 eight at the 2018 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
• Fourth place in the women’s varsity four at the 2018 New York State Scholastic Rowing Championships.
• Sixth place in the women’s high school 4+ at the 2017 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.
• Placed 23rd in the women’s youth eight at the 52nd Head of the Charles.
• Recipient of Pittsford Crew’s 2018 Scott Laio Memorial Scholarship, established to honor his memory and awarded annually to a graduating senior who best exemplify the qualities Scott brought to Pittsford Crew.
Personal
• Annie Barbara Bryson is the daughter of Daniel and Michelle Bryson and she has one sister.
• Grandfather Michael Bryson '53 rowed for the Cornell heavyweight team.
• Father, Daniel, played soccer for Allegheny College.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
