Biography

• CRCA National Scholar Athlete (2015, 16)

Why Crawford Chose Cornell: I loved the energy and enthusiasm that so many of the students I met had for their involvement on campus. Cornell's strength comes from its strong sense of community and common identity--alive in spite of the school's large size. Entering Cornell as an undecided major I'm very excited about the variety and depth of courses offered. I'm equally excited about becoming part of a team that has built a culture grounded in hard work and camaraderie.

At Cornell
Crawford will serve as team captain for the 2016-17 season.

Junior (2015-16): Crawford was named a CRCA National Scholar Athlete following a junior season in which she rowed in the varsity eight. At the Doc Hosea Invitational Regatta, the varsity eight took on Minnesota, UMass, Navy and Dartmouth and placed second behind the Gophers. She helped Cornell earn the Parents’ Cup with a win over Dartmouth, and also defeat Boston University by open water in a race at Brown.

Sophomore (2014-15): Crawford was named a 2015 CRCA National Scholar Athlete following her sophomore season. She was a member of the second varsity eight that placed fifth at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship. Following the season, Crawford traveled to England with the Big Red to participate in the program's first-ever trip to the Henley Women's Regatta, where she rowed as a member of the second varsity eight in the Senior 8 race.

Freshman (2013-14): As a freshman, Crawford rowed in the varsity four crew that finished fifth to beat its seeding at the 2014 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship.

Prior To Cornell
Crawford earned three varsity letters at Walt Whitman high school and rowed with both the Thompson's Boat Club and Potomac Boat Club.  As a member of Whitman’s varsity eight, she won a bronze medal at the 2013 Stotesbury Regatta and earned a pair of WMIRA championships. Crawford was named a Washington Post All-Met selection in 2012 and 2013. She served as team captain during her senior season and was a three-time team MVP. With her club teams, Crawford placed fifth in the double at the 2012 Club Nationals, took seventh in the varsity eight at the 2012 Head of the Charles and finished ninth in the varsity eight at the 2011 Head of the Charles.
