Biography
At Cornell
During her sophomore season, Hanss was the coxswain of the third varsity eight that placed fifth overall at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship. She also coxed the third varsity eight that defeated Dartmouth during the regular season. As a freshman, Hanss served as coxswain of the second varsity four crew at the 2014 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship.
Prior to Cornell
Hanss was a member of the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School rowing team for three seasons, serving as both a rower and a coxswain. She has also been a member of the Riverside Boat Club, Community Rowing Inc., and Cambridge Boat Club.
Personal
Catherine Michele Hanss is the daughter of Robert and Michele Hanss and she has one older brother. Both of her parents, as well as her maternal grandfather attended Cornell. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
