Biography
Why Zhong Chose Cornell: Cornell offers a great range of disciplines and flexibilities to students like me, who have a very broad range of interests. I am excited to be surrounded by like-minded people in both academics and athletics. Also the Cornell Dairy Bar is my fav.
At Cornell
As a junior (2019-20)
• Competed as part of the “D” boat during round two of the Princeton Chase, finished in 17:38.860.
• Came in ninth place at the Cornell Autumn Classic rowing in the “D” eighths boat, finishing in 14:30.27.
As a sophomore (2018-19)
• Competed with the second varsity four at three regattas.
As a freshman (2017-18)
• Rowed in the third varsity four at the Dunn Bowl.
Prior to Cornell
• Rowed for three years, earning one varsity letter, at the Dublin School (N.H.).
• Won a gold medal in the varsity 4+ at the 2016 National Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championship.
• Took home a bronze medal with the second varsity 4+ at the 2015 National Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championship.
• Earned a silver medal in the varsity 4+ at the 2016 Granite State Rowing Championship after winning gold with the second varsity 4+ at the 2015 regatta.
• Also competed for Ready Set Row.
Personal
• Meiyi Zhong is the daughter of Yongjian Zhong and Ying Hou and she has one younger sister.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
