First-year assistant coach Dan Fronhofer joins the staff of the women’s rowing program full-time after working as a volunteer assistant for the lightweight and heavyweight men’s rowing teams last season. Fronhofer rowed for the Big Red heavyweight squad for four seasons.

In his three seasons on the Cornell varsity crew, Fronhofer was part of a fifth-place boat at Eastern Sprints in 2002 and earned the team’ s Ackerman Award for motivating and inspiring the crew as a senior in 2004. He was part of a club eight team that earned a gold medal at the 2006 Head of the Charles Regatta. Fronhofer also competed at the Pan-American Games trials in the pair and competed at the National Selection Regatta in a single.

Fronhofer most recently worked for BDP Industries, Inc., in Greenwich, N.Y. He completed the Lake Placid Ironman Triathlon during the summer of 2005, qualifying for the prestigious Hawaii Ironman.

A 2004 graduate of Cornell, he earned his degree in biological and environmental engineering.
