Why Barrett Chose Cornell: “I chose Cornell because it is a school in which I thought I would be able to grow as both a student and an athlete. Everyone I have met at Cornell have all been very welcoming and displayed a support for each other that made me feel as though this was a community I would work well in. Cornell’s community is one I have decided I want to be a part of and work hard for.”

At Cornell
Following her junior season, Barrett was named a Mid-Atlantic Region second-team selection, as well as a CRCA National Scholar Athlete. She rowed in the varsity eight that placed fifth overall at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship. She also helped the Big Red to win the Parents’ Cup and Class of ’89 Points Plate with regular-season victories over Dartmouth and Penn, respectively. Following the season, Barrett traveled to England with the Big Red to participate in the program's first-ever trip to the Henley Women's Regatta, where she rowed as a member of the varsity eight in the Elite 8 race. As a sophomore, Barrett rowed in the varsity eight that finished fifth at the 2014 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship. Barrett was the only freshman to row in the varsity eight during the 2013 season. She helped the Big Red to a fourth place finish at the 2013 Ivy League Women's Rowing Championship, before taking 15th overall at the 2013 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championship.

Prior to Cornell
Barrett is a member of Community Rowing Inc. In 2011, she earned first place finishes at the Youth Nationals (lightweight eight), the Club Nationals (varsity eight, lightweight four, lightweight pair), the Canammex Regatta (USA’s varsity eight, varsity four), and the Canadian Henley (varsity eight). She also helped the varsity eight to a fourth place finish at the 2011 Head of the Charles Regatta and a sixth place finish at 2012 Youth Nationals. Barrett also lettered four times in swimming and played two years of soccer. In the pool, she set school records in the 100-yard breaststroke, 100 medley relay, 100 freestyle relay, and the 400 freestyle relay.
