Biography
At Cornell
As a junior (2015-16)
- Split time between the varsity eight and second varsity eight during her junior season.
- At the Doc Hosea Invitational Regatta, she helped the varsity eight boat to a second place finish behind Minnesota, but ahead of UMass, Navy and Dartmouth.
- As a member of the second varsity eight, Barnett helped the crew defeat Boston University by open water in a race at Brown.
As a sophomore (2014-15)
- As a sophomore, Barnett was the only underclassmen to row in the varsity four that won the Petite Final at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship.
Prior to Cornell
- Brings five years of rowing experience to Cornell.
- She helped her women’s eight crew to a fifth place finish at the 2013 Youth Nationals, after a second place finish in the junior eight at the 2012 Club Nationals.
- Won two national championships in the lightweight eight in 2010, as well as a national championship in the lightweight pair in 2011.
- She also won gold in the women’s junior eight at both the 2011 Club Nationals and the 2011 Canadian Henley.
Personal
- Elizabeth Olivia Barnett is the daughter of John and Sheila Barnett and she has one younger brother.
- Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
