Biography

Why Tucker Chose Cornell: Cornell turned out to be everything I was looking for in a college. The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has one of the best interdisciplinary Environmental Science programs in the country, making it a perfect fit for my academic interests. While talking to both students and student-athletes, I discovered the supportive and intellectually stimulating atmosphere I desired; competition is saved for the water. Additionally, the focus and friendships I saw on the rowing team made me want to be a part of such a united group of people. Everyone I met seemed to genuinely enjoy their experiences at Cornell and made me feel comfortable as soon as I stepped onto campus.

At Cornell
Junior (2015-16):
In her junior season, Tucker rowed in the varsity four A. She helped the crew to a victory over Penn and UMass at the Doc Hosea Invitational Regatta, as well as an open-water victory over Boston University in a race at Brown. Following the season, she was named a CRCA National Scholar Athlete.

Sophomore (2014-15): During her sophomore season, Tucker rowed in the third varsity eight that placed fifth at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship. She also rowed in the third varsity eight that defeated Dartmouth during the regular season. Following the season, Tucker traveled to England with the Big Red to participate in the program's first-ever trip to the Henley Women's Regatta.

Freshman (2013-14): As a freshman, Tucker served as stroke of the third varsity eight crew that finished sixth overall at the 2014 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship.

Prior to Cornell
Tucker earned four varsity letters at Upper Arlington high school, serving as team captain during the spring 2011 season. She helped the varsity eight to a 17th place finish at the 2013 Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) championship, following a fourth place finish at the Midwest Scholastics.  As a junior, she helped the junior eight take first at the Midwest Scholastics to go along with a third place finish in the varsity eight at the same regatta. Her varsity eight went on to take sixth at the 2012 SRAA and 14th at the Head of the Charles. Tucker also helped the junior eight to a second place finish at the 2011 Midwest Scholastics before finishing fifth at the 2011 SRAA.
