Biography

Why Stenovec Chose Cornell: I made a few official visits to other schools, but nothing compared to my Cornell visit. I loved the campus, and more importantly, I felt very comfortable with the current members of the crew team and the coaching staff. Furthermore, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences had a Biology and Society major which fit directly with my interest in a possible career in nutritional science. It was clear that Cornell would offer me the opportunity to excel as a student-athlete.

At Cornell
Sophomore (2015-16): Stenovec moved into the third varsity eight during her sophomore season, helping the Big Red to a victory over Dartmouth.

Freshman (2014-15): As a freshman, Stenovec rowed in the fourth varsity C boat that was the Big Red’s top finisher at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship, with a fourth place finish overall.

Prior to Cornell
Stenovec rowed for five seasons with the Oakland Strokes Rowing Club, starting on the novice crew as an eighth grader. She earned a pair of top 10 finishes at the Head of the Charles, one in the varsity eight and one in the varsity four. Stenovec also helped the junior varsity eight to a silver medal at the San Diego Crew Classic and a gold medal in the Southwest Regional Championships. She also earned gold medals at the Southwest Regional Championships in the third varsity eight and the freshmen eight boats.
