Biography
Why Calderon Chose Cornell: I chose Cornell University because of the outstanding mix of excellent academics and athletics. I know Cornell is going to push me academically and athletically in the best way possible. From the second I walked on campus the atmosphere and people convinced me I loved the school!

At Cornell
As a junior (2016-17)
• Began rowing her junior season as a member of the second varsity eight.
• Rowed with the varsity eight for the majority of the season including the 2017 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championships.
As a sophomore (2015-16)
• Rowed in the varsity four and the second varsity eight during her sophomore season.
• Opened the season helping varsity four to a victory over Penn and UMass at the Doc Hosea Invitational Regatta.
As a freshman (2014-15)Â
• As a freshman, Calderon was a member of the second varsity eight that placed fifth at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship.
• Also rowed in the varsity four that defeated Dartmouth during the regular season.Â
• Following the season, Calderon traveled to England with the Big Red to participate in the program's first-ever trip to the Henley Women's Regatta, where she rowed as a member of the second varsity eight in the Senior 8 race.
Prior to Cornell
• Rowed for four years with the Oakland Strokes.
• As a team captain in 2014, she helped the second varsity eight to a pair of gold medals at the Southwest Regionals and the San Diego Crew Classic.
Personal
• Isabella Raquel Calderon is the daughter of Orlando and Roberta Calderon and she has two younger sisters.
• Her great aunt, Mary Andrews and her great uncle, Jeff Gilbert, both graduated from Cornell.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
