Biography
Why Shroyer Chose Cornell: I choose Cornell for not only the academic rigor and successful rowing team, but for the environment that surrounds both of those. I feel that I will be able to be a part of a positive, energetic yet challenging and competitive environment.
At Cornell
As a senior (2019-20)
• Rowed in the championship eight at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta, finishing with a time of 16:21.888 ahead of Ivy League foe Dartmouth.
• Competed with the “A” boat during round one of the Princeton Chase, finishing in a team-best 15:44.198.
• Rowed with the “A” boat during round two of the Princeton Chase, earning a fifth-place finish following a time of 15:50.812.
• Rowed with the “A” fours boat that took second place at the Cornell Autumn Classic, finishing with a time of 14:13.83.
• Took first place at the Cornell Autumn Classic, rowing in the “A” eights boat and finishing with a time of 12:57.75, five second ahead of a Syracuse.
As a junior (2018-19)
• Was named second-team All-Ivy following her junior season.
• Rowed in the varsity eight during the 2018-19 campaign.
As a sophomore (2017-18)
• Was named first-team All-Ivy following her sophomore season.
• Rowed in the varsity eight during the 2017-18 campaign.
As a freshman (2016-17)
• Consistent member of the second varsity eight throughout her rookie season.
• Helped row the crew to victory over Dartmouth.
Prior to Cornell
• Rowed for one year with the Twin Cities Youth Rowing Club where she helped her crew take 14th place at the USRowing Youth Nationals.
• Earned four varsity letters in swimming and four varsity letters in equestrian at Chanhassen High School.
• As a swimmer, she was a state alternate selection in 2013 and 2014.
• Competed in varsity sectionals all four seasons and placed in top 16 in each event in which she competed, including top eight finishes for the 200 and 500 free in 2014.
Personal
• Jaquelyn Anne Shroyer is the daughter of John and Karrie Shroyer and she has one older brother, Joey, who golfed for William & Mary.
• Enrolled in the College of Engineering.
