Biography
Why Franck Chose Cornell: I chose Cornell University because of its academic and athletic opportunities. When I arrived on campus for the first time, I immediately felt strong sense of community and enthusiasm. I knew that I wanted to be a part of it, learning from and contributing to such an amazing place!
At Cornell
As a junior (2019-20)
• Rowed in the championship eight at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta, finishing with a time of 16:21.888 ahead of Ivy League foe Dartmouth.
• Competed with the “A” boat during round one of the Princeton Chase, finishing in a team-best 15:44.198.
• Rowed with the “A” boat during round two of the Princeton Chase, earning a fifth-place finish following a time of 15:50.812.
• Rowed with the “A” fours boat that took second place at the Cornell Autumn Classic, finishing with a time of 14:13.83.
• Took first place at the Cornell Autumn Classic, rowing in the “A” eights boat and finishing with a time of 12:57.75, five second ahead of a Syracuse.
As a sophomore (2018-19)
• Rowed in the varsity eight throughout her sophomore season.
• Helped the varsity eight to a second place finish in the petite final at the Ivy League Championships.
As a freshman (2017-18)
• Moved into the varsity eight for the final three races of the season, including the Ivy League Championship.
• Rowed in the second varsity eight for the first three races of her freshman campaign.
Prior to Cornell
• A three-year member of Community Rowing, Inc.
• Served as the varsity team captain (2016-17).
• Won a bronze medal at the 2016 Royal Canadian Henley.
• Took sixth-place at the 2015 Royal Canadian Henley.
Personal
• Madeline Ruth Franck is the daughter of Kevin and Lori Franck and she has one younger sister.
• Enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
