Biography

Why Macey Chose Cornell: I chose Cornell for the range of courses of study and welcoming atmosphere of the rowing team.


At Cornell
• Will serve as team captain for the 2018-19 campaign.

As a junior (2017-18)
• Rowed in the varsity eight and the second varsity eight during her junior season.
• Helped the second varsity eight defeat Navy.

As a sophomore (2016-17) 
• Consistent member of the second varsity eight throughout her sophomore season.
• Helped row the crew to victory over Dartmouth.

As a freshman (2015-16) 
• Opened the season in the second varsity eight, before moving into the varsity eight for the final three races of the season.
• Helped the second varsity eight earn the Parents’ Cup with a win over Dartmouth.
• Also helped defeat Boston University by open water in a race at Brown. 

Prior to Cornell
• Competed for the Saugatuck Rowing Club where she helped the varsity eight boat earn a silver medal in the junior women’s event at the 2015 Northeast Regional Championships.
• Also picked up a bronze medal in the junior women’s four at the 2014 Head of the Charles.

Personal
• Morgan Hope Macey is the daughter Bill and Sharon Macey and she has one older brother and one younger sister.
• Her brother Max was a member of the 2015 NCAA DIII men’s tennis national championship team at Claremont McKenna College.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
