At Cornell
Kuntz was named second-team All-Ivy following a junior season in which she was one of just two underclassmen rowing in the varsity eight. She helped the Big Red to one of its best seasons in more than 20 years with a second place finish in the varsity eight race at the Ivy League championship. Cornell went on to participate in the 2012 NCAA Championship, where the crew finished fifth in the Petite Final, good for 11th in the nation. She also helped Cornell to regular season victories against Syracuse, Boston University, Rutgers, Yale, and Dartmouth. During her sophomore season, Kuntz stroked the varsity eight to another great season with wins against Yale, Harvard and Dartmouth. The crew was consistently ranked in the top 20, reaching as high as No. 10. Kuntz stroked the second varsity eight during her rookie season.

At North Catholic High School
Kuntz lettered four times at North Catholic high school, serving as team captain as a senior. A three-time Scholastic National Championship participant, she earned a silver medal in the lightweight four in 2007, after finishing sixth in the 2006 race. In 2009, she rowed the single to the semifinals. That same year, she also finished second in the Petite Finals of the USRowing Youth National championship in the single. Kuntz earned three top-five finishes with the lightweight four at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, taking fifth in 2006, second in 2007 and reaching the semifinals in 2008. She was also a semifinalist at the 2009 Stotesbury in the single. As a senior, Kuntz won gold medals at the Pittsburgh Scholastic Sprints and the Midwest Championships in the single. Kuntz also rowed with Row Pittsburgh. She reached the semifinals in both the women’s double and the quad at the 2008 USRowing Club National championship. Kuntz also lettered once in both cross country and volleyball. She helped her volleyball team to a sectional championship in 2009.

Personal
Stephanie Christine Kuntz is the daughter of Russell and Debra Kuntz and she has one younger brother. Her father Russell played football for four years at Salem University. Kuntz is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
