Biography

Why Lust Chose Cornell: I chose Cornell because I wanted to go somewhere that would challenge me both academically and rowing wise. I also was attracted to Cornell because of how close the team is and I felt like I would be a good fit there.


At Cornell
As a senior (2019-20)

• Rowed in the championship eight at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta, finishing with a time of 16:21.888 ahead of Ivy League foe Dartmouth.
• Competed with the “B” boat during round one of the Princeton Chase, crossing the finish line in 16:30.547.
• Rowed with the “C” boat during round two of the Princeton Chase, crossing the finish line in 17:13.992.
• Competed with the “B” fours boat that placed fifth overall at the Cornell Autumn Classic, crossing the finish line in 14:37.25.
• Took first place at the Cornell Autumn Classic, rowing in the “A” eights boat and finishing with a time of 12:57.75, five second ahead of a Syracuse.

As a junior (2018-19)
• Competed with the second varsity eight during her junior year.
• Took sixth at the Ivy League championships where the second varsity eight competed in the Grand Finals.
• Helped the second varsity eight defeat Dartmouth at the Parents Cup.

As a sophomore (2017-18)
• Rowed in the varsity eight throughout her sophomore season.

As a freshman (2016-17)
• Consistent member of the varsity four B throughout her rookie season.
• Helped the varsity four B become the Big Red’s top finisher at the Clemson Invitational, taking fifth in the B-level Final.
• Rowed the crew to victory over Dartmouth.

Prior to Cornell
• Rowed for two years with the Connecticut Boat Club.
• Earned a bronze medal in the women’s eight at the 2016 Youth National Regatta.
• Also helped the crew to a fifth place finish at the 2015 Head of the Charles Regatta.

Personal
• Taylor Marie Lust is the daughter of Richard and Hillary Lust and she has two brothers.
• Her grandfather attended graduate school at Cornell and went on to serve as the Dean of Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
