Why Castellano-Wood Chose Cornell: I chose Cornell because of its beautiful campus, demanding academics and the opportunity to succeed as a Division I student-athlete. The diverse community here encourages me to pursue my interst in the visual arts and interpersonal communications, and I'm proud to be a part of it.


At Cornell
As a senior (2019-20)
• Rowed in the championship eight at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta, finishing with a time of 16:21.888 ahead of Ivy League foe Dartmouth.
• Competed with the “A” boat during round one of the Princeton Chase, finishing in a team-best 15:44.198.
• Rowed with the “A” boat during round two of the Princeton Chase, earning a fifth-place finish following a time of 15:50.812.
• Competed with the “B” fours boat that placed fifth overall at the Cornell Autumn Classic, crossing the finish line in 14:37.25.
• Took first place at the Cornell Autumn Classic, rowing in the “A” eights boat and finishing with a time of 12:57.75, five second ahead of a Syracuse.

As a junior (2018-19)
• Competed in the varsity eight during her junior season.
• Took second in the petite final at the Ivy League championship regatta.
• Friedman "Wall of Honor" recipient.

As a sophomore (2017-18)
• Rowed in the varsity eight throughout her sophomore season.

As a freshman (2016-17)
• Split time as a member of the varsity eight and second varsity eight throughout her rookie season.
• Rowed the second varsity eight to victory over Dartmouth.
• Named as the team's 'Rookie of the Year'.
• Friedman "Wall of Honor" recipient.

Prior to Cornell
• A four-year member of the rowing team at Deerfield Academy, Castellano-Wood served as team captain during her junior and senior seasons.
• As a member of the varsity eight, she won a bronze medal at the 2016 New England Championship.
• As a junior, she rowed in the second varsity eight that placed second at the 2015 New England Championship.

Personal
• Victoria Grace Castellano-Wood is the daughter of Benjamin Wood and Theresa Castellano, and she has a twin brother.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
