Biography
At Cornell
As a junior, Nava rowed in the second varsity eight boat that took fourth place at the 2013 Ivy League Women's Rowing Championship, before winning the C Finals at the 2013 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championship for a 13th place finish overall. She rowed in the varsity four during her sophomore season, helping the Big Red to victories over Syracuse, Boston University, Rutgers, Yale, Brown, Columbia and Dartmouth, as well as a fourth place finish at the Ivy League championships. She also rowed in the varsity four at the 2012 NCAA Championship, helping Cornell to a fourth place finish in the Petite Finals, good for 10th in the nation.
Prior to Cornell
Nava attended Lincoln high school, but rowed as a member of the Rose City Rowing Club. She sat port/starboard for two years and was in the varsity boat for three seasons. She went to the 2009 USRowing Youth National Championships and placed fifth at the Head of the Charles.
Personal
Virginia Angeline Nava is the daughter of James Nava and Elizabeth Burns and has a younger brother Gus. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
