Biography

As a senior (2018-19)

• Named to the ICSA honorable mention All-America crew.
• Honored on the MAISA all-conference first team.
• Saw action in 16 total events.
• Competed in fall conference championships at the MAISA Women's and War Memorial and in the spring at the Prosser Trophy, MAISA Women's national qualifier and the America Trophy.
• Crewed the women's team to a Sperry Women's Finals with 13 races in the semifinals.
• Competed in the Coed National Championship with a pair of races in B Division.
• Crewed entries that won the Jack Boehringer Memorial and Jen Harris Women's regattas.
 

As a junior (2017-18)

• Earned All-MAISA crew honors.
• Saw action as part of the crew in all three sailing disciplines at nationals (women's, team race and coed).
• Crewed 13 races at the America Trophy, helping the Big Red qualify for coed nationals.
• Helped Cornell to a second place finish at the Fall North Qualifier, crewing the A Division entry.
• Served as crew at the Rose Bowl Regatta.
• Was a fixture in Team Race League events.
• Part of the squad that competed in the Prosser Trophy, taking fourth at the Team Race conference championship to qualify for the program's first nationals.
 

As a sophomore (2016-17)

• Competed in 13 varsity regattas.
• Had the second seat in B division at the America Trophy and in A division at the Sperry National Women's Semifinal.
• Crewed A division at the MAISA Women's and War Memorial conference championships.
• Teamed with skipper Clark Uhl in seven co-ed regattas.
• Sailed A division at the Atlantic Coast Tournament, posting six top five race finishes.
 

As a freshman (2015-16)

• Crewed 10 varsity regattas as a freshman.
• Crewed races at the War Memorial and Atlantic Coast Co-ed Conference Championships and the MAISA Women’s Championship.
• Her boats won eight individual races during the season.
• Earned her first varsity letter.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Otis competed for four years of sailing at Severna Park HS.
• She served as team captain as a senior.
 

Personal

• Diana Alexandra Otis is the daughter of Philip and Carol Otis and has a younger sister.
• Her father and grandfather are among four relatives that attended Cornell.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
