Biography

As a senior (2015-16)
• Competed in six varsity competitions as a senior.
• Finished fifth at the Faye Bennett Women’s Singlehandeds to qualify for the ICSA nationals where she finished 11th.
• Was the skipper at the helm of the Big Red’s A division entry at Women’s Clinigatta, leading Cornell to a win with two victories and two second-place efforts in six races.
• Skippered the A division entry at the MAISA Women’s Fall Dinghy, helping Cornell to a top 10 finish.

As a junior (2014-15)
• Led the B division boat to a 14th-place finish, part of a 12th-place team effort, at the Sperry ICSA Women's National Championship.
• Captained the B division boat to a fifth-place finish, part of a sixth-place team effort, at the Sperry Women's Western Semifinal.
• Finished 11th at the Navy Radial Open to qualify for the Faye Bennett National Championship, where she placed 17th.
• Was at the helm for Cornell's entry in the MAISA Women's Fall Dinghy that helped the Big Red qualify for the conference regatta.
• Competed in 12 varsity regattas as a captain.
• Was a member of Cornell's first varsity sailing team in 2015.

Prior to Cornell
• Howes was a three-year skipper of the sailing team while attending Nauset Regional HS.
• She served as team captain of Nauset Sailing (2010-11).
• Howes also competed in varsity swimming.

Personal
• Quinn B. Howes is the daughter of Thomas and Kathy Howes and she has three older brothers, including Duncan ’15.
• Her father rowed at Harvard and was a member of the 1980 Olympic team, while his mother rowed at Smith College.
• She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
