Cornell University Athletics

As a senior (2017-18)

• Earned All-MAISA crew honors.
• Saw action at nationals in the Sperry Women's Championships (both semifinals and finals) and the LaserPerformance Team Race Championships.
• Crewed A Division in five races at the MAISA Women's, helping the Big Red qualify for nationals.
• Competed in the America Trophy regatta, helping the squad qualify for coed nationals.
• Crewed the B Division boat to seven wins in eight races in helping Cornell claim the Susan Rogers '75 Memorial title.
• Part of the squad that qualified out of the Prosser Trophy, taking fourth at the Team Race conference championship to qualify for the program's first nationals.
• Was a staple in competition during the Team Race League events.
• Served as team captain.
 

As a junior (2016-17)

• Competed in eight varsity regattas as a crew.
• Crewed seven of nine races at the Sperry Women's National Semifinals with three top five finishes, including a second-place race in B Division.
• Part of the boat that finished third at the Jack Boehringer '52 Memorial Regatta.
• Along with skipper Gabby Rizika, sailed B Divison at the MAISA Women's Fall Regatta.
 

As a sophomore (2015-16)

• Competed in six varsity regattas as a crew.
• Helped the Big Red win the home Clinigatta along with skipper Gillian Boehringer as the B division entry.
• Was part of the Big Red’s sixth-place finish at the George Morris Trophy race while sailing as part of the B division.
• Earned her second varsity letter.
 

As a freshman (2014-15)

• Competed in seven regattas during her freshman season.
• Made her collegiate debut crewing the B division entry at the Jesuit Open for two races, including a third-place finish in her first varsity race.
• Crewed the B divison boat at the King's Point Open, good for fifth place among 20 teams in its group.
• Was a member of Cornell's first varsity sailing team in 2015.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Bergstrom was a four-time all-league and two-time all-county track athlete at Somers HS while competing in the sprints and pole vault.
 

Personal

• Tara Nicole Bergstrom is the daughter of Rudy and Elena Bergstrom and has one brother.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
