Biography

Senior Season — 2016
Tavzel appeared in 12 games for the Big Red with one start. After the season, she was presented the team's Jessica Gunter Inspirational Player Award, which is given annually to the team's most inspirational player and unsung hero.

Junior Season — 2015
Tavzel appeared in all but two of the Big Red's 17 games, earning three starts along the way. She appeared on the back line and also as a reinforcement in the defensive midfield when the Big Red was protecting the lead. She directed five shots toward goal, forcing two saves.

Sophomore Season — 2014
Tavzel made the jump to a starter in central defense. Her 1,328 minutes ranked third among field players, and she only sat out two late-season non-league games for rest. Tavzel and the rest of the Big Red defense kept six clean sheets for the season. Tavzel also notched her first career assist in the Big Red's 3-2 win over Penn on Oct. 3. She sent a long ball to Meera Dheer for the winning goal late in the first half.

Freshman Season — 2013
Tavzel appeared in 12 games off the bench for the Big Red, primarily as a midfielder. She directed two shots toward goal.

Prior to Cornell
Tavzel was a four-year letterwinner with Ardsley HS, where she served as the captain for her senior year. She was named the League II-C most valuable player in 2011. She was also named to the state's All-Section 1 team that season, and was tabbed for the all-league teams in both 2009 and 2010. Tavzel was also a member of the National Honor Society and a three-year letterwinner as a sprinter and high jumper in track & field. She also competed at the club level with NY Rush Patriots FC, helping the team to three straight New York East championship game appearances — including titles in 2010 and 2012.

Personal
Aimee Meaghan Tavzel is the daughter of Erik and Kerri Tavzel, and she has an older sister. She is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
