Biography

Junior Season — 2014
Growney earned All-Ivy League Honorable Mention, despite missing three of the Big Red's league games due to a late-season injury. She appeared in 13 games as the team's target forward, leading the team with five assists and ranking second on the squad in both goals (four) and points (13). Often the focal point of opposing defenses, Growney registered a team-high 15 shots on goal. Her first goal of the season may have been the most dramatic, leading Cornell to a 1-0 victory in the final minute of overtime Sept. 5 at Massachusetts. She then set up freshman Paige DeLoach for the lone goal of a victory over Marist two days later, then exploded for a goal and two assists the next weekend against VMI. She would later register a goal and an assist in games against Buffalo (Sept. 19) and Penn (Oct. 3) — both 3-2 victories for the Big Red.

Sophomore Season — 2013
In her second season appearing in all 16 games as a forward, Growney enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with team highs in goals (seven) and points (15). Growney was the first Big Red competitor to reach those numbers since Kara Ishikawa scored seven goals and added three assists for 17 points in 2005. Her first collegiate goal came Sept. 15 in the Big Red's 5-4 victory over Albany, starting a stretch of four goals in four games for her. She scored both goals Sept. 18 in a 2-0 win against Binghamton, then her fourth goal of the season came on a penalty-kick conversion Sept. 22 vs. NJIT. Growney went to lead the team in Ivy League goals with three. After scoring the team's second goal against Harvard on Oct. 12, Growney enjoyed her second two-goal game of the season on Oct. 27 vs. Brown.

Freshman Season — 2012
Growney was one of just two freshmen on the squad to appear in all 16 games. She also earned 13 starts, proving to be a versatile piece of the puzzle by playing both forward and central midfield. Growney earned her first collegiate point with an assist on Maneesha Chitanvis' goal on Sept. 12 at Binghamton. She then earned another assist in the Big Red's 4-1 victory over Lafayette on Oct. 2, sending Xandra Hompe in alone against the keeper. Ten of Growney's 17 shots on the season were on target, ranking second on the team to only All-Ivy League selection Chitanvis.

Prior to Cornell
Growney helped Albuquerque Academy accumulate a 77-14-1 record and win state championships in each of her four years with the varsity squad. She was named first-team all-district all each of those four campaigns and also earned first-team all-state honors three times. Growney was twice named the district player of the year. Her career totals of 108 goals and 61 assists for 277 points stands as the career record at Albuquerque Academy. Growney also competed for the Rio Vista Eagles club team, winning three state titles. She was also a member of the New Mexico Olympic Development Program state team from 2007-2009 while also being selected to the Region IV ODP camp for three seasons.
