Vanessa Romero has completed one season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Cornell women's soccer team, joining the squad in April 2019. In addition to responsibilities on the field, Romero has contributed to the team's social media assets and strategies.

Romero came to East Hill after a decorated collegiate career at SUNY Cortland. She was named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Division III All-East first team after garnering second-team honors the year prior. While serving as a captain, Romero led her team scoring as a senior with 16 points on five goals and six assists. During her four-year tenure with the Red Dragons, she netted 15 goals to go with 11 assists in 68 games, and she was twice named to the All-SUNYACÂ first team.
Romero graduated with a bachelor of science in kinesiology and exercise science, and is working toward a master's degree in sport and fitness administration/management at SUNY Cortland.
