Biography

Senior Season — 2017
Serving as one of the team's co-captains, Fitzgerald joined classmate Paige DeLoach as the only two members of the squad to start all 14 games. With plenty of experience as a holding midfielder, Fitzgerald spent the majority of her final season on East Hill as a member of the back line — both centrally and on the flank. Her 1,268 minutes ranked second on the team, and all three of her shots toward goal required saves from opposing goalkeepers.

Junior Season — 2016
Fitzgerald was one of the team's primary holding midfielders, where she earned 14 starts and appeared in all of the team's 16 games. She was presented the team's Goal of the Year award after the season, scoring on a clean header off an Elizabeth Crowell corner kick in the third minute of the Big Red's 4-1 victory over Dartmouth to close out the season. Fitzgerald has also been named a co-captain for the 2017 season alongside classmate Whitney Farber.

Sophomore Season — 2015
Fitzgerald continued to be one of the Big Red's favored options off the bench as both a defender and as a holding midfielder. She appeared in 16 of Cornell's 17 games and had two of her three shots on goal during an Oct. 31 contest at Princeton.

Freshman Season — 2014
Fitzgerald took on a few different roles, playing in all but one game in her first collegiate season. She made six starts among her 16 appearances, most frequently as an outside back. She scored her first collegiate goal in somewhat bizarre fashion Sept. 12 vs. Virginia Military Institute. With the VMI keeper off her line after a misplayed ball, Fitzgerald hit an arching shot from 40 yards that found the upper righthand corner of the net to close the scoring in the Big Red's 5-0 victory.

Prior to Cornell
Fitzgerald played on the club level with Carlsbad Elite, serving as a captain for various teams over six years and helping the Under-18 squad to a runner-up finish at the 2014 National Cup. Fitzgerald also competed a three-sport athlete at Cathedral Catholic HS in Del Mar. While also excelling at cross country and track and field, Fitzgerald helped the soccer team capture three California Interscholastic Federation titles and two Southern California regional championships. She was also a member of the National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation and a National Merit Scholar.

Personal
Kaylee Marie Fitzgerald is the daughter of Robert and Melissa Fitzgerald, and she has an older brother. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
