Biography
Freshman Season — 2012-13
Foster was 12-7 in her collegiate debut, tying Jaime Laird and Jessenia Pecheco for the team lead in individual victories. Her 19 appearances led all of the team's freshmen, as she competed exclusively from the top four spots in the order. Foster was primarily used at the No. 4 position, where she was 8-7 with four victories against Ivy League opponents — including a pair of wins against Katie Ballaine and Gwendoline Tilghman from Yale. Foster started the season on a nine-match and 27-game winning streak. She finished the season ranked 36th in the country by the CSA.
Prior to Cornell
Foster was a well decorated junior competitor, finishing third in the 2012 Canadian Junior Squash Championships in the 19-and-under division. She is ranked third in the country in that division and first in British Columbia. She won a gold medal while serving as the captain of Team British Columbia in the 2011 Canada Winter Games. Foster also competed with Team Canada at the 2011 World Junior Women's Championships in both team and individual events. She has also won a pair of British Columbia Provincial Championships in both the 19U and 17U divisions in 2010 and 2012, also capturing the 15U title in 2009.
Personal
Abbigael Pearl Foster is the daughter of Alan and Suzanne Foster, and she has an older sister. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
