Biography

Senior Season — 2012-13
Laird was 12-5 in team matches, which tied her for the team lead in individual victories with Jessenia Pacheco and Abbey Foster. Four of those wins came in five-game matches, including a clash with Madeleine Gill of Stanford in the consolation semifinals of the Howe Cup. The Big Red would go on to win that match, 5-4, and finish sixth in the national rankings for a second straight season. Once again competing exclusively in the top three, Laird qualified for the College Squash Assocation Individual Championships, where she had two victories over Yale's Katie Ballaine and Gwendoline Tilghman in the first-round consolation bracket. Laird finished the season ranked 19th in the country by the CSA.

Junior Season — 2011-12
Laird was named a second-team All-American and first-team all-Ivy League for the second consecutive season, posting an 11-7 record en route to a national ranking of No. 20. She was the squad's primary competitor at the No. 2 spot in the order, winning nine of her 10 matches from Nov. 19 to Feb. 4. She played in an incredible five matches that went to five sets, winning three of them — including the Big Red's only victory in a Jan. 13 match at Trinity. Laird also avenged an early-season loss to Stanford's Kerrie Sample by winning the rematch on Feb. 25 in Cornell's dramatic 5-4 win in the consolation semifinals of the Howe Cup.

Sophomore Season — 2010-11
Her vast experience in junior squash at both national and international levels carried her through a very successful freshman season, playing predominantly in the #1 spot. Jaime Laird finished with a 6:8 record and an end-of-season CSA ranking of #22. Laird, a truly worthy recipient, was voted the team's most sportsmanlike player.
