Biography

Senior Season — 2011-12
A three-year captain, Sachvie had an outstanding senior campaign with a team-high 13 victories to go with six losses for a team-leading winning percentage of .684. She finished the season with a national ranking of No. 76, going out in style with a pair of five-set matches in the consolation bracket of the Howe Cup. All 11 of Sachvie's victories before that came in straight sets, including a marathon match with Williams' Caroline Sawin on Nov. 20 that required 22 points to win the deciding game.

Prior to Cornell
Sachvie played the Canadian and international squash junior circuit for many years prior to coming to Cornell. She is currently ranked seventh in Canada in the under-19 division. She was coached by her father, Mark, at White Oaks Resort and Spa and played for Team Niagara for eight years. At St. Francis SS, she was captain of the squash team and helped lead her team to a record-breaking five-straight wins at the Ontario Tournament, where she placed second individually.  She also played badminton and tennis at St. Francis.
Personal
Lauren Sachvie is the daughter of Mark and Cindy Sachvie and has two brothers. Although her brother Chris Sachvie '10 graduated, her younger brother Nick, has joined the men's team. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and is studying Communication.
