Biography
As a senior (2017-18)
• Qualified for the College Squash Association National Individual Championships for a second straight year.
• Tied for second on the team in victories with a 10-7 record.
• Had the team's longest winning streak of the season, winning seven consecutive matches from Jan. 14 to Feb. 3.
• Accounted for team's only point in Howe Cup consolation semifinal loss to Stanford on Feb. 17, defeating her opponent in five games at No. 3.
• CSA Scholar Athlete.
• Finished collegiate career with 41-26 record, which was best in her class.
As a junior (2016-17)
• Earned a spot on the College Squash Association All-America Second Team after storming to a Holleran North bracket title at the College Squash Association National Individual Championships.
• The victories vaulted Losty to 19th in the CSA's final individual rankings for the season after recording a team-best record of 10-5 from the Nos. 2 and 3 positions during dual matches.
• Named team's Most Valuable Player after the season.
As a sophomore (2015-16)
• Appeared in all 19 of the team's matches and was tied for the team lead in victories with an 11-8 record.
• All but three appearances came from the No. 3 position, which included a five-match winning streak in the middle of the season.
• That stretch included a five-gmae victory in the team's annual rivalry match against Stanford, then culminated with an Ivy League win against an opponent from Dartmouth.
• Won her final match of the season, helping the Big Red top Columbia in the seventh-place match of the Howe Cup.
As a freshman (2014-15)
• 10-6 in collegiate debut, competing at the No. 4 position in all but two matches.
• Won seven of first eight matches, including rallies to win in five games against both an opponent from Columbia on Dec. 7 and a foe from Drexel on Jan. 24.
• 3-4 in Ivy League play, with three-game sweeps against opponents from Brown and Dartmouth.
• One of just three Cornellians to win two of three matches at the Howe Cup, avenging an early-season loss to an opponent from Yale in a come-from-behind victory in five sets during the consolation final.
• Finished season ranked 31st in the country by the College Squash Association — fourth-best on the team.
• Presented the team's Match of the Season Award at the postseason banquet.
Prior to Cornell
• Ranked as high as eighth in the US Squash GU19 junior rankings and advanced into the Round of 16 at the U.S. Junior Squash Championships.
• Was once the top-ranked junior in the country in the GU17 division.
• Competed in squash, tennis and track & field at Penn Charter, serving as captain for all three teams during her senior season.
Personal
• Margaux Ainsley Losty is the daughter of James and Carolyn Losty, and she has one brother and one sister.
• Brother, Jay, competes on the squash team at Yale.
• Sister, Lexi Van Arkel, played on Yale's squash team for four years.
• Grandmother, Nancy Kressler Lawley '57, is a Cornell graduate.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
