Biography
Prior to Cornell
Before attending the St. George’s School, Tellez was ranked No. 3 in Mexico in the girls’ under-15 division and later ranked No. 5 in girls under-17. She also earned four bronze medals at the Mexican National Olympics. At St. George’s, Tellez went undefeated in the 2005 season and finished third in the New England championships. As captain of the varsity squad, Tellez helped St. George’s become the Independent School League (ISL) undefeated champions for two consecutive years from 2006-2008. She was named All-ISL for three consecutive years from 2005-2008.
Personal
Mariana Tellez is the daughter of Ricardo Tellez and Leonor Villalobos and has two younger sisters. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
