Biography
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Competed at eight meets for the Big Red during her sophomore season.
• Made the B Final of the 100-backstroke and 200-backstroke at Akron’s Zippy Invitational, notching a top-10 finish and placing 10th overall in the 100-backstroke.
• Her 100-backstroke (57.68) and 200-backstroke (2:06.57) times, as well as her 100-butterfly (58.64) mark, at the Zippy Invitational were all season-bests.
• Recorded a season-best in the 200-butterfly (2:10.81) against Columbia.
• Finished third in the 400-IM against Binghamton, helping the Big Red to a team victory.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Scored in the 100 back at the Ivy League Championships, taking 23rd,
• Took third in the 100 back at the Bomber/Ithaca Winter Invitational.
• Placed fourth in the 100 and 200 back against Columbia.
• Finished fifth in the 200 back against Yale, the 100 free against St. Bonaventure and in the 200 IM against Bryant
• Was sixth in the 100 back versus Yale.
Prior to Cornell
• McNeary was a four-time state qualifier while attending Manhasset HS.
• Graduated with four school records.
• Captained the team her senior year.
Personal
• Claire W. McNeary is the daughter of Brian McNeary and Jeannie Ng and has an older brother and a twin brother.
• Her brothers, Jeff '19 and Daniel '22, either attended or are enrolled at Cornell.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
